Okram Ibobi Singh (born 19 June 1948) is the Chief Minister of the state of Manipur, India. He has held that position since 7 March 2002. In 2012, he helped his party win the state election for the third time with an absolute majority securing 42 out of the total 60 assembly seats,〔(Congress makes a hat trick in Manipur, Ibobi front runner for CM )- Tehelka.com, 7 March 2012〕 brushing aside anti-incumbency factor once again. He was born to a poor family and helped his father's profession.He is married to L. Landhoni Devi, who has won two consecutive elections of Manipur Legislative Assembly from Khangabok Constituency of Thoubal District.
